April 2013
Here's some work I've done in my classes this term, including gesture drawing, environment design, and live painting with Edgar Silva.
This term there's a lot of focus on learning to control my work by breaking down elements of the figure, composition, and subject matter by simple shapes, values, and lines. It's difficult to change habits of jumping right into the beautification and rendering, but I can see how much the difference in my work already just by focusing on the simple, suggestive design. I'm a work in progress as always.

Lately I've tried to cut back the color to really evaluate value and light as translated by form, material, and distance.
